What's new at Lurple.com?

Posted in

The review index has been updated with a dynamic, fully sortable table that shows data like the movie's year, rating, etc.  It's a small change, but it's more like we wanted the site to look in the first place.   This may be the last of the site changes until we get around to updating to a more personalized theme, which may take some time.

In other news tonight's upcoming review is a real bad movie gem!

That's pretty cool

How did you set that whole review matrix up?

Well, the short answer is

Well, the short answer is that it's basically a SQL query that displays some specific data about the reviews.

It's not terribly hard to set up in Drupal using the Views module. I decided to go with Drupal when I set the site up so that I'd have more flexibility to do stuff like this on the back end. It's been a fun learning experience.

I'm not sure how you'd do it on Wordpress but there's probably a similar plugin around somewhere. Or you could probably write one if you're familiar enough with Wordpress and good at that sort of thing.

I'll have to see what I can

I'll have to see what I can figure out. That looks really slick. I'm just trying to figure out how I can sort out my archives, so... yeah. Wish me luck.

If I have some time I'll look

If I have some time I'll look around and see if I can find something similar, but I'm not very familiar with Wordpress. Good luck. :)

I just updated mine to use AJAX so that it sorts without refreshing the whole page. Pretty cool. If you like how it works I would check into that.

great post

I grew up in Newquay, on the Atlantic coast and there developed a love of the sea and boats. it is very true in the boating industry, u can see http://www.boatparadise.com/

I really enjoy not getting in a car and running errands on bikes. interesting bikes http://www.bikeads.com/

As much as I converse with sages and heroes, they have very little of my love and admiration. I long for rural and domestic http://www.birdclicks.com/
