It’s no secret that most of Steven Seagal’s straight to video efforts stink. There have been a few that manage to rise above abysmal and can be watched without cursing everyone involved in making the film. Ruslan and The Keeper fall into this category; while they’re not likely to make any new Seagal fans, they at least offer some entertaining violence, and Seagal actually seemed to show up to the set for work most of the time.
Last year we had Kill Switch, which was my top choice for worst Seagal film ever. The plot was your standard cop tracks serial killers and unleashes vigilante justice nonsense that we’ve all seen at least a dozen times. Horrible editing and obvious stunt doubles crippled the film, and most of the time it seemed like they’d just editing pictures of Seagal in here and there just to make it look like he was around now and then.
So now we have A Dangerous Man. Seagal is the titular dangerous man. At the start of the film he is wrongfully arrested for murder, spends 6 years in jail in the blink of an eye, and is then released because DNA evidence proved he wasn’t guilty. Seagal bitches about his time in jail and how his $300,000 settlement doesn’t make up for his wasted life. I feel his pain; I’ve wasted hours on his movies and he’s never even sent me a dime to make amends.
After getting out of jail, Seagal buys himself some cheap bourbon and is trying to get his drink on near an abandoned parking lot when some random gangsters get into a shoot out. In one of the many nearly unlit scenes, Seagal saves a young Russian gangster and a girl who was trapped in a car trunk with a big stash of cash which evidently belongs to the Chinese mafia. This sets the stage for a whole lot of horribly lit battles between characters whose names I can’t even recall. Each battle is generic and uninteresting. Seagal’s typically be-wigged stunt double can be seen from time to time when a fight accidentally strays into an area near a light bulb.
A Dangerous Man isn’t as stunningly bad as Kill Switch, but it’s bland to the point that you won’t even get any amusement out of making fun of it. I seriously can’t remember the name of a single character in the film, and I just finished watching it. I can’t even remember what Seagal’s name was supposed to be, not that it matters since he always plays the exact same character in every film.
In short, just skip this one. There’s nothing here that’s worthwhile even for bad film mockery. Let’s all walk away and pretend this never happened, which should be pretty easy because even if you ignore my warning and watch it, you’ll be hard-pressed to remember much of anything that occurred in the film 5 minutes after the credits roll.

Question is; did Waxman write the script upon Seagal or did Seagal find a useless script and did Seagal decide to play the character because there wasn't a better script available? It is very hard to understand that this huge guy he is now, still can beat his opponent with quick movements in martial arts. Any Chinese mobster should be able to knock him down in a hot shot.

I'm a big huge fan of Steven Seagal. I mean I had all his movies (maybe I have some that He does not have in his own collection). Steven Seagal is at the wrong place at the wrong time and for that He is going to kill a lot of people. This movie is full of killing and action. Any action movie fan should see this. I really enjoyed. Actually the movie makes sense and is really good. The last movies of Steven Seagal were really bad, but this one and The keeper are getting our action hero back in the field. If you have any idea of the kind of movies Seagal has been churning out since his last theatrically released movie (2002's "Half Past Dead"), you probably will know why I had sworn off watching any new Seagal movies some time ago, at least if I had to pay to see them. Can't punch or kick with a broken arm or leg. Steven Seagal is not the highest ranking Aikidoka in the west, I guess it depends on which branch or family you are talking about And Seagal Sensal just received his 7th like 3 or maybe 4 years ago. MMA is a sport, yet it really make legitimate martial arts look bad in my opinion.
Real martial arts, focus on the "art" (history, language, etc.) part and they are much more lethal. MMA/UFC is a sport, mostly a combination of Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. For example, you won't see aikido in MMA because they don't allow wrist and finger locks. MMA teaches you to fight one vs. one whereas martial arts teach you to fight one vs. one or one vs. several

The man. period. whatever, he wants to make a few quick bucks by going straight to dvd and not having to worry about being "hollywood" ready anymore. Did you guys know he's a blues singer? that's cool, he rips on the harmonica. What he needs to do is get a MMA guy to choreograph some of those moves, make em really nasty and crazy. No more weird half-karate where seagal grabs his arm and the guy gets paralyzed. it's 2010!
Please Retire Already
Ok so I will admit that back in the early 90's Seagal's movies, while corny as hell, were fun to watch. But years of alcoholic drinking, overeating, and growing old have taken their toll to the point where its almost comical to see him in an action role, let alone as the main action "star" of a movie. Do yourself a favor and don't waste the 1 1/2 hours of your life on this.

My feelings are kind of mixed
My feelings are kind of mixed about this one.On the one hand it's a straightforward action film,and it doesn't take long for the action to start,also Steven is pretty good in it.But it just didn't really click with me,the editing was awful and i think we could have gotten a much better film with a bit more care.Personally I would rate it at 70%. A satisfying Seagal action movie, but keep your expectations lowered.

I hate the Seagal movies to and I get so bugged when my mother and husband want to watch them. They are so clichéd and boring that I can’t even imagine how people can stand watching it. I really feel that he makes all his movies and there are some crazy people like my folks who just like action plot or not. To be honest I cannot think of even one movie of his which has stuck in my memory.
