Kill Buljo: The Movie

Kill Buljo

A Norwegian parody of Kill Bill that also spoofs numerous other films including Deliverance, Titanic, and Star Wars. Kill Buljo is as low-brow as it is low-budget. Prepare for silly action and raunchy jokes; someone will get chopped in half, cows will be molested, and Jompa Tormann will.... Kill Buljo!

I'll be up front and say that the sort of humor that is Kill Buljo's mainstay isn't really my cup of tea. I don't think I'd be far off the mark comparing it to the likes of Scary Movie. It's got jokes about guys peeing for a long time, jokes about guys having sex with cows, Deliverance man-rape jokes, a guy named Blow Job... you get the point.

Having said that, I was surprised that I didn't hate Kill Buljo; I even found some of the other jokes funny. The movie also looks pretty good (in some places) for a film that was made with very little money. The slick opening credits and the fantastic snowmobile chase scene stand out in my mind. It also has a great soundtrack.

Stig Frode Henriksen is strangely likable as the stupid but determined Lapplander Jompa Tormann, who is hellbent on revenge after being gunned down at his own engagement party.  Most of the rest of the cast don't fare quite as well, but Natasha Angel Dahle is certainly cute enough as Jompa's love interest.

During his quest for vengeance Jompa will encounter some bumbling cops, Buljo's numerous henchman—who have names like Crazy Beibifeit and Bud Light—a hired gun named Lara Kofta, and lots and lots of bad jokes. He'll seek out training from the old master that has unfortunately been named Blow Job in an attempt to make you laugh. Perhaps it will work. In the end, he'll battle his way through all of his enemies to get his revenge, Norwegian parody-style.

Odds are you're not going to stumble across Kill Buljo by accident (unless you live in Norway), and I can't recommend going out of your way to find it unless you're a big fan of movies that specialize in raunchy humor.  If you like those kinds of movies you might get a kick out of Kill Buljo.
