Something Creeping in the Dark

After a flash flood destroys a bridge during a bad storm, a group of stranded motorists take refuge at a large, spooky, run-down castle once owned by a psychic witch that held séance’s for the rich and bored in her parlor.

Amongst the group is escaped criminal Farley Granger (So Sweet So Dead—72), his police captors and frustrated horn-dog wife Lucia Bose (Miss Italy 1947). There’s also a doctor and a few skeptic  unbelievers who quickly learn not to fuck with the supernatural after holding a séance to contact the castle’s long deceased owner. While Granger tries to escape, the others booze, flirt and bicker until they run out of muddled dialogue to exchange and there’s a lightning flash, Granger is trussed up in the basement and the guests begin to die at the hand/claw of some unseen, asthmatic assassin.

Probably one for the hardcore Italian murder/mystery fans, it’s well short of amazing but can still boast some effective dark shadows, lumpy music and a some nice memorable touches (like the house being full of clocks).
